Who we are
Our website address is: https://www.clickinggreen.com
Hosting
This website is hosted by Mijn.host (via Vimexx), located in the Netherlands. Your data is processed and stored on servers within the European Union.
Data collection
We collect the data you submit through the comments form and contact form, as well as your IP address and browser user agent string. This information is used in part to help with spam detection.
An anonymized string (hash) derived from your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at: https://automattic.com/privacy/. If your comment is approved, your profile picture may be publicly visible alongside your comment.
Analytics — Matomo
This website uses Matomo, an open-source, privacy-friendly analytics platform. Matomo is self-hosted on our own server (stats.jebede.nl), which means your data is never shared with third parties and never leaves our infrastructure.
Matomo collects anonymized data such as your IP address (anonymized before storage), browser type, pages visited, referrer URL, and approximate geographic location. This data is used solely to understand how visitors use our website and to improve its content and performance.
You can opt out of Matomo tracking at any time using the control below:
Email — Mailgun
We use Mailgun to send transactional emails (such as comment notifications, password resets, and contact form replies). We exclusively use Mailgun’s EU servers, meaning all email data is processed and stored within the European Union. Mailgun’s privacy policy is available at: https://www.mailgun.com/legal/privacy-policy/
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for one year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. Logging out will remove all login cookies.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie contains no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after one day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if you had visited those websites directly.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content — including if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Data is only shared with the service providers listed in this policy (Mijn.host/Vimexx for hosting, Mailgun for email) where necessary to operate the website.
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows us to recognize and automatically approve any follow-up comments rather than holding them in a moderation queue.
For users who register on our website, we store the personal information provided in their user profile. All users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request an exported file of your personal data, or ask that we erase it. This does not include data we are required to retain for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
To exercise your rights, please contact us via the contact form on this website.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. All core data is processed within the European Union. Mailgun’s EU infrastructure is used for email delivery, and Matomo analytics are self-hosted on our own EU-based server.
